1. Who we are
driveweekend.com is an independent project operated from within the European Union, as part of the drivenerve family of driving tools. Contact: hello@drivenerve.com — full legal identity and postal details are provided on request, and will be published here when the site's commercial features switch on. By using the site you agree to these terms; if you don't agree, don't use the site.
2. What the service is
driveweekend drafts weekend driving plans: an hour-by-hour itinerary built on map data, cost estimates built from your inputs and typical regional rates, stop suggestions, and a packing checklist — all free, without accounts, and shareable as a link. You can edit any plan; your edits live in your link and your device, not on our servers.
3. Plans are estimates, not navigation — drive responsibly
This is the paragraph that matters most, so plainly:
- Routes, distances and driving times are estimates computed from OpenStreetMap data and third-party routing engines. They do not account for live traffic, weather, closures, roadworks, seasonal passes, ferries out of service, or vehicle restrictions. Always follow real-world signage, local law and a proper navigation app while driving.
- The site is not a navigation device. Do not operate it while driving.
- Cost figures are honest ballparks, built from your fuel numbers plus typical European rates for food, stays, extras and tolls. They are planning envelopes, not quotes, invoices or financial advice. Verify prices, tolls and vignette rules for your actual route and country.
- Stop suggestions are generic advice ("find the café where the delivery vans stop"), not statements about specific businesses or places. The feasibility checks (daily driving-hour warnings) are aids to judgment, not guarantees that a plan is safe or suitable for you, your vehicle or your passengers.
- You are responsible for your trip: your vehicle's condition and documents, your insurance, your rest, your compliance with traffic law, and your own judgment about weather and roads.
4. Acceptable use
You may use the site for personal, non-commercial trip planning and share plan links freely. You may not: attempt to disrupt, overload or scrape the site or its API endpoints; use our routing/search proxy for anything other than the planner's own requests; bypass rate limits; misrepresent plans generated here as officially endorsed by us; or use the site for anything unlawful. The map, search and routing services the site calls (OpenStreetMap, Nominatim, OSRM, openrouteservice) have their own usage policies, which apply to the requests your use generates.
5. Your content
Names, notes and labels you type into a plan remain yours. Because they are stored only in your link and your device, you control them entirely — and you are responsible for them. Don't put sensitive information (or other people's personal details) into a plan link you intend to share; anyone with the link can read it.
6. Our content and third-party data
The site's design, text, code and brand assets belong to the operator or its licensors; the drivenerve and driveweekend marks may not be used without permission. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database Licence (ODbL); map rendering uses the Leaflet library (BSD-2); routing may use HeiGIT openrouteservice. Guide articles may be linked and quoted with attribution; they may not be republished wholesale.
7. Free service, no warranty
The site is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Map data, routing engines and the site itself can be wrong, unavailable or discontinued at any time.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from reliance on estimated routes, times or costs, from third-party services, or from events on your trip. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer (for example under EU consumer law, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, or the Australian Consumer Law, under which our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded).
9. Email dispatches
If you opt into email updates, the sign-up is double opt-in and every email carries an unsubscribe link; details are in the privacy policy. The dispatches are editorial, occasional, and can be stopped by you or discontinued by us at any time.
10. Future partner links
The site currently contains no advertising, affiliate or sponsored links. If clearly-labelled partner links are ever introduced, they will be visibly disclosed where they appear, and organic suggestions will never be for sale. Any commission would come from the partner, never as an extra cost to you.
11. Changes and termination
We may update the site and these terms; the current version, with its effective date, always lives at this address. Material changes take effect when posted here. We may suspend or discontinue the free service at any time — though your existing plan links keep working as long as the site is up, because the plans live in the links.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the European Union member state where the operator is established, and disputes belong to the courts of that state — except that if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws, and the courts, of the country where you live.
13. The rest
If any clause of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stand. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement about your use of the site. Questions: hello@drivenerve.com.
